Miles returned Zach. He fingered his Pokeballs carefully. Could Zigzagoon really fight well enough. He decided to let him try at least. "Go Dyllan!" He threw the Pokeball into the air and it revealed the small raccoon Pokemon. "Tackle!" he cried. Zach swiped out furiously at Zubat.

Zigzagoon's body rammed into Zubat. The poor bat-lie Pokemon was thrown backwards with the force of the attack. Zubat fluttered to regain his balance. Zubat remained in the air to fight against Zigzagoon. The kid ordered Zubat to launch a Leech Life attack. Zubat flew over there and buried its two fangs into the fluffy raccoon pokemon's body. Zubat soon flew away again and back into a nearby corner.

Dyllan cried out in pain. "Zigzag! Zagoon!" Miles looked at him. One more attack, he prayed. Just one more to finish this Zubat off! He ordered another Tackle attack and crossed his fingers.

The kid was shocked. One more hit and Zubat would probably faint. He had to summon up what little power Zubat still had in his body. "Zubat leech life!" Zubat gly towards Zigzagoon his mouth a gape. Zigzagoon's body slammed into Zubat. Zubat was tossed down. Zubat was down and out.
The kid kicked at some rocks at the ground. "FINE YOU WIN!" he shouted. He grabbed Zubat's poleball, returned the defeated Pokemon and ran straight out of the building. Droplets on the ground indicated he was crying.
Robin, Zach, and Dyllan gained 2 EXP each.

Miles proceeded on to the next room. It was circular and, oddly, as compared to rest of the town, clean. At the center of the room was a purple mat with zigzag designs on it. Sitting at the center of the mat, meditating, was the gym leader, the man known as Fugo.
Floating beside Fugo was a Koffing, muttering happily to himself, "Koff, Koffi!" At the far end of the gym there was a small pond in which a Qwilfish swam lazily, dancing in the ripples of the pond.
Miles approached the gym leader carefully. "Hello sir," he said. Koffing opened one eye and then grunted, and Qwilfish glanced in his direction, but the man took no notice. He tapped Fugo on the shoulder. "Sir, please. I would like t-to b-b-battle. I beat the other t-trainer," he stammered, terrified. He was in the presence of a gym leader and all he could do was stammer! Idiot, he thought.

Fugo's eyes shot open. He stood up and turned around until he was facing Miles. His body was visible now. His eyes analyzed Miles slowly at first then Fugo spoke. "I trust you healed your Pokemon of all wounds before entering my room. Let me put away my mat before we begin the battle. I don't want it to get dirty." At first it sounded like a joke, but there was no sense of humor in his voice. He bent down and picked up the large mat. He rolled it together and carried it over to the corner with one hand. He placed it down in the corner.
He walked back over to Miles. "So, shall we begin?" he asked. Koffing's early demeanor shifted. It was now ready for battle and it was anxious for it. IT floated readily for the match. Qwilfish was more peaceful and serene then before it floated still in the water. His entire team was here and his entire team was ready for this battle.

"I-I didn't heal them, sir. Do you have a machine for me to heal them with?" Miles was nervous, and he was obviously showing it. What if doesn't have a machine? thought Miles. What if he refuses to battle me? The Koffing was now battle ready. But Qwilfish was quiet. Miles figured that meant that Koffing would battle first. Miles tried to figure out battle strategies to battle Koffing. He had no Pokemon that would be super-effective against Poison types. However, he should save Zach for Qwifish so that Qwifish didn't have a water-type advantage. So, that left Robin and Dyllan to deal with Koffing.

Fugo looked intensely at Miles. This little kid who had acutally beaten one of his trainers didn't even heal his Pokemon! Was he battling a psycho or an amateur! Fugo had a machine in his room for after all this was the first gym, many kids make a mistake like that, but it infuriated him nonetheless. He pointed over to a dinky little machine in the corner. The machine looked more like the rust that wcovering it then the actually machine. A few clear white patches still stood out from it, but most of the machine was an ugly rust color. It was an outdated model, completely unlike the one in the Pokemon centers. But it would get the job done all the same. Fugo waited patiently for Miles.

Miles healed his Pokemon and waited for Fugo. When the young man said nothing, Miles looked up nervously, "I'm ready, s-sir. W-would you like to begin now?"

Fugo let a smile overtake him, even if it was a brief one. The kid was clearly nervous and a bit off beat, but he still wished to fight him. He was already starting to forget the kid's mistake of not healing. He was ready for the match. He nodded and walked over to his own respective side of the gym. Koffing flew into the center of the ring. Black putrid gas started pouring out of it. The smell was already apparent. Fugo stood there and smiled. He was used to the smell, Koffing was leaking out of his body, he had smelled it before. It reminded him of his past battles nad more importantly his past victories. He waited for Miles to make his move.

Miles covered his mouth with his shirt. He fingered his Pokeballs. Robin or Dyllan. He decided to use Dyllan. "Go Pokeball!" he shouted. The small raccoon pokemon burst out the red and white ball in a flash of red. "Zig," it growled. "Dyllan," Miles said to the Pokemon. The Zigzagoon turned to face Miles. "Use this," the boy said, pulling a bandanna out of his pocket. "to cover your mouth. If you breathe in the smoke, you might get poisoned. The small raccoon nodded, anxiously. "Zig!" It was time for battle.

Fugo smiled. Zigzagoon was no match for Koffing. Zigzagoon being a normal-type probably didn't have the array of moves necessary to defeat Koffing. The kid deserved credit though the badanna probably would still the effect of Koffing's own smoke, but Koffing was still a higher level. With a higher level comes better experience and better stats. This match was over with before Miles walked in through the door.
Fugo didn't want to give Miles a chance at this match. "Koffing, smokescreen," he commanded his Pokmeon. Koffing imeddiately released one black cloud after another from its mouth. Soon the whole stage was covered in a blackening fog. No one could see through the thick haze. Fugo and Koffing probably had difficulty seeing things too, but they trained in this smoke. They probably knew it well enough.

"Oh no!" shouted Miles, surprised.
He'd lost any hope of an advantage already! Dyllan couldn't see! But neither could he, Fugo, or Koffing. "Koff, koff, fing!" the Pokemon cackled maliciously.
Owen heard his Zigzagoon use a Growl, the Pokemon was confused and scared. It had never experienced anything like this before. Neither had Miles. The young trainer commanded a Tackle on Fugo's Koffing, and crossed his fingers, hoping the small raccoon Pokemon could still hear him.
Miles stared off, perplexed, and scared, at the pitch black, foggy darkness that separated him from his Pokemon. There was no escape, there was no knowing. All he could do now was command Dyllan and stare blindly at the foggy battle scene.

Koffing stood there laughing enjoying the fact that no one could see. People have tried everything to get rid of his smokescreen, but very few have ever prevailed. Koffing stood there, floating waiting his master's command. He heard a nearby thud. He figured that must've been a failed tackle attempt. It was time to launch Koffing's next attack. "Koffing, Smog!" ordered Fugo. Purple gas started to sink out and mix with the black gas. Forming an intolerable stench and air. Fugo even had to cough at the now toxic air. Zigzagoon even felt weakened by the gaseous mixture.

Miles stood there, rooted to his spot, helpless and blind. "Dyllan!" he cried, but the Pokemon could not hear him now.
Dyllan thrashed out at the Koffing's hazy shape, using sheer brute force. He launched a powerful Tackle at the Pokemon again. The Zigzagoon heard a thud and was knocked back at the force of hitting something. Koffing maybe? Or another wall?

Koffing felt something hard slam into him. Did Dyllan just actually hit him? No, it couldn''t be. Then what did? It must have been Dyllan. Koffing immediately let out a cry of distress. He knew he had been hit, he had to tell master Fugo about it. But since he didn't know which way was up or down he just had to scream.
Fugo heard this. "Koffing stop it. Understood. For now just change your position." Koffing shifted over a few feet from where he was. The last hit had been strictly because of luck. The next hit won't even have a chance of hitting Koffing.

Dyllan lashed out the hazy figure of Koffing. As soon as the Pokemon had moved, he had seen the Pokemon's new position. Dyllan ran agilely at the spherical poison gas Pokemon and jumped into the air, first tackling and then, finally, kicking out powerfully with his hind legs.
Miles heard the fighting from his position at the other end of the gym. All he could do was hope that Dyllan was okay.

Koffing once again let out a scream. Fugo started to get riled up. The newbie trainer might actually be able to fight him. He was wishing for just a fight like this. Oh, well, even if not maybe he can force a little more fun out of this situation.
"Koffing Tackle," shouted Fugo. Koffinf flew forward in the same direction the last hit came from. He rammed into Dyllan. With as much force if not more force then when Dyllan hit him.

Suddenly, Dyllan felt something come hammering at him. He tried to dodge it, but failed. He was weak, and the small bandanna fell off his face. The Pokemon slowly became intoxicated and was choking. It looked over, its eye bulging, and saw a Full Heal and an Antidote waiting beside the small healing machine. Dyllan reached out and grabbed them, healing himself, and curing his Poisoned affliction. The Pokemon stood up, rejuvenated, and took its bandanna and placed it across its face once more. "Zig!" it cried, and it lashed out Koffing's hazy figure. It was ready to battle, and it was, for the first time ever, totally psyched to fight.
((Zigzagoon does have the ability Pickup))

*Pick-up is an ability that might allow the Pokemon to pick up items after the battle and at my or any other mod/admin's discretion only! But you know what if you want a Full Heal and an Antidote to unpoison your zigzagoon who is not poisoned at this time, BE MY GUEST!*
Fugo's eyes became intense. His and his Koffing's demeanor both shifted. Both of them becoming meaner and more ferocious. Kugo shouted ato Koffing to use Smog once more! Koffing started to send out a coherent stream of black gas at one cloud at a time. The smog covered the air making it hard to both see and breathe. Even the slightest action would cause a Pokemon to inhale the fumes and hurt themselves. Zigzagoon's rushing up to attack the figure of Koffing was a such action. zigzagoon inhaled the black toxic cloud and damaging its own lungs, but it didn't stop rushing. It hit Koffing's figure and landed on the ground. It started to breathe deeply getting slightly tired out from its previous run.
